Meet The Team
Amanda Struss
Amanda is a seasoned hospitality and events professional with an eye for the extraordinary, and a passion for providing people with opportunities to experience the world from a unique point of view. She’s known for her distinctive ability to innovate, discover and analyze new destinations, and strategically design and deliver best-in-class events around the globe. She formed The Parallax Group after nearly 20 years in the global event industry to further develop experiences using her perspective and incorporating “The Art of Hospitality” into her work.
Today she has a travel journal full of expectation-exceeding experiences she has tailor-created for her clients, and she continues to seek out new ways to provide delight, amazement and connection around the world.
When not traveling, Amanda and Brian split their time between the mountains and the water, living in Boulder, Colorado and on a lake in Northern Michigan. She enjoys interior design and is an avid reader, gardener and aspiring yogi. She aims to live each day by her personal mantra of “Work Hard & Be Nice to People.”
Brian Struss
An industry veteran alongside Amanda, Brian brings more than 20 years in the global event industry to The Parallax Group, with a keen eye for planning and executing successful events for high-profile clients across multiple industries.
Throughout his work he has learned that in crafting exceptional events, some things simply can’t be taught — they’re accumulated through years of day-to-day experiences around the world.
Having served roles in account management, operations and leadership, he’s developed a trademark approach with a laser focus on handling details in a thoughtful and efficient manner. He ensures excellence for his clients and that everyone always feels warmly welcomed.
When not traveling, Brian can often be found attending concerts and continuing his self-imposed challenge of learning to play piano. He believes in being a lifelong learner and enjoys continuing to entertain new knowledge and perspectives through books and podcasts.
Sam Liggins
Sam is a dynamic leader known for orchestrating high-impact events with strategic vision and an unwavering dedication to excellence. With more than 15 years of industry experience, she weaves together with an expert hand and eagle eye the many fine details that lead to successful, memorable experiences that make people happy.
Her experience includes serving on both sides of the event planning aisle, in agency and in-house roles, allowing her to develop her well-rounded perspective and meticulous approach to management. Working for a chef early in her career sparked a passion for food and beverage that she still carries today, creatively seeing to the culinary details that elevate each event’s success.
When not traveling, Sam enjoys sampling new restaurants and searching for new musical artists to enjoy. Above all, she loves spending time with her husband and two sons. She is committed to teaching her boys about the beautiful world we live in and is excited to help them gather stamps in passports of their very own in the coming years.
